Harry Gorman Misenheimer, Jr.



Harry Gorman Misenheimer, Jr., 94, of Salisbury, NC passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury.

Harry was born March 21, 1923 in Rowan County to the Late Harry G. Misenheimer, Sr., and the late Ruth Tippet Misenheimer.

Harry served his country in the U.S. Marines and achieved the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He worked as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service and was a member of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge.

Mr Misenheimer was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elizabeth Stroud Misenheimer whom he married March 31, 1942 and passed away February 15, 2009, and a son, John Gorman Misenheimer, Sr. in November 15, 2013.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathy Dearman of Salisbury, daughter in law, Janet Misenheimer , grandchildren, Lt. Col. John Misenheimer, Jr. (Lisa) , Andy Ellenburg (Licy) of Charlotte, great grandchildren, Katie Misenheimer, Sophie Ellenburg, Landis Ellenburg and John E. Misenheimer.

Visitation: 1:00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Chapel in the Pines at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Service to follow at 2:00 PM. with the Rev. Jim Vickrey officiating, Military Honors will be accorded by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
