Obituary

Robert “Bob” Glasgow, 76, of Spencer passed away December 6, 2017 at the Liberty Lane Hospice House, at W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born August 30, 1941 in Washington County, PA he was the son of the late Leonard Hilmer and Rebecca Elizabeth McMinn Glasgow.

Robert received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He served his country in the U.S. Army. After his retirement as a manager in the textile business he worked as a Public Safety Officer at Catawba College in Salisbury. Robert was a member of the Civitan club, had served on the board of the American Red Cross, and volunteered with Hospice, Meals on Wheels, and did volunteer work through his church.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Freeman Glasgow whom he married July 11, 1980; Sons, Greg Glasgow (Chele)
of Covington, GA, Scott Glasgow (significant other Heather Johnson) of Macon, GA; daughters; Angela Broome Powley (Keith) of Charlotte, Lisa Garland (Grey) of Greer, SC; and Bobbie Atkins of Charlotte, brother Richard Glasgow (Connie) of Clearwater, FL grandchildren; Grant Broome, Johnny Swartz, Hunter Johnson, Grayson Broome, Jackson Suber and Cameron Glasgow.

Visitation: 10:30 – 11:30 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the fellowship hall of The Arbor United Methodist Church 5545 Woodleaf Road, Salisbury, NC 28147.

Memorial Service: 11:30 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the sanctuary of The Arbor United Methodist Church, with the Pastor Craig Sefa officiating.
