Obituary

Johnny Curtis Trexler, 81, of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Johnny was born February 24, 1936 to his late parents Thomas Lee Trexler Sr and Maggie Koontz Trexler.


Johnny graduated from Spencer High School in 1957. He later married Joyce L. Trexler on June 26, 1960 and was married for 57 years. He worked at North Carolina Finishing Company for 40 years and was voted Franklin Lions Club Man of The Year in 1992. He was a member of the North Rowan Band Association and Trading Ford Baptist Church. He served the youth at Trading Ford Baptist Church as a Youth Leader.
Johnny loved woodworking, ceramics, hunting, fishing, gardening and raising chickens. Also, he thrived after his kidney transplant that was 10 years ago.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Maggie Trexler, brothers Moses and Ray, Thomas Lee Jr, Dewey, Glenn, Bobby, Albert, sisters Marie Rufty and Olivia Snider.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, sister Darlene Mason and her husband Bruce; sister Rosemary Meredith; brother in laws Randy Long and Jeff Long, nieces Cyndi Honeycutt and her husband Steve, Tiffany Howell and her husband Travis, Becky Marlow and husband Jay, Carolyn Ervin, Donna Meredith and Jennifer Mason, D.J. Snider, nephews Mike Rufty, Steve Meredith, grandchildren Josh Honeycutt and his wife Hannah, Jessica Thomas and her husband Wesley.

The visitation will be from 1-2:30pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Trading Ford Baptist Church 3600 Long Ferry Road Salisbury, NC 28146.

The funeral service will be at 3:00pm on Friday, November 17th, 2017 at Trading Ford Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Mike Motley and brother in law Jeff Long. Burial to follow at church cemetery.
