J. W. Dietz “Toad” Earnhardt, of Salisbury, NC, passed from this life August 7th.
A devoted Brother, J.W. was a kind and caring soul. His family and friends were his greatest joy. Visits and dinners with J.W. created countless memories his family will always cherish. He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant in World War II.
While in Salisbury, he was retired bricklayer with Earnhardt Brothers Construction and a local farmer.
He leaves behind his brother Earl David Earnhardt among his many loving caretakers Alan Earnhardt, Glenda Earnhardt, Tommy Moore, Amy Basinger (Foster), Chris Earnhardt, Sherri Earnhardt, David Earnhardt, Jessica Earnhardt, Kenneth Earnhardt, Lynn Basinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fannie L Poole Earnhardt and Samuel Council Earnhardt as well his brothers James Earnhardt, Karr Earnhardt, Council Earnhardt, Henry Earnhardt and sisters Doris Sprye and Kate Oddie.
Visitation: will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Thursday, August 10th 2017 at Dutch Hall of Union Lutheran Church 4770 Bringle Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Service: 4:00pm Thursday, August 10th, 2017 Union Lutheran Church, Reverend Bill Ketchie and Pastor Bill Seachrist, Military rights will be accorded by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made in his memory to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove St, Salisbury, NC 28144
