Diana Christine Rogers Ellenburg



Diana Christine Rogers Ellenburg, 77, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 2, 1940 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Walter W. Rogers and Audrey E. Lowder Rogers.

Mrs. Ellenburg worked for the Rowan- Salisbury School system for 28 years as a secretary. She was also a school bus driver. She was a longtime member of Community Church where she was very active as church clerk, choir member and teacher for both the children’s class and adult class. She was a WMU member.

She was a very loving and giving lady who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years William Lester “Leck” Ellenburg, Sr. and son Roger Phillip Ellenburg, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her grandson Roger Phillip “RJ” Ellenburg, Jr. of Cleveland, granddaughters: Tasha of Cleveland, Kristen and Michelle both of Salisbury, step-son William Lester Ellenburg, Jr., brother Johnny Rogers (Robin) of Granite Quarry, sister Isabella Morales (Jose) of Denver, step-brother Eibis Rogers of Panama, nephew Ace Scardino of Salisbury, very special friend Connie Hand of Salisbury and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 12:00 – 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, 817 South Main Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27 at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Chris O’Guin officiating.

Burial: 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27 at the Old Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
